RESPECTED DEVOTEES AND VOTARIES,
No introduction need be made regarding the rich sculptural,
architectural and historical heritage of Almighty SHRI BHADRANARASIMHA
SWAMY of Manjeshwar. Each one of us do know that since ancient times, our
Gowda Saraswath community, considered as a denominational sector, have
reposed utmost faith, reverence and devotion to SHRI BHADRANARASIMHA SWAMY,
and the Almighty has showered all blessings on one and all, in all walks of
our life.
It is the bounden duty of everyone of us to upkeep the traditional,
architectural beauty and serenity of the sanctum sanctorum, and needless to
point out that all of us, to join together for improving, maintaining and
up keeping the Great Temple of Almighty SHRI BHADRANARASIMHA SWAMY.
The Present management, motivated by the devotees of Manjeshwar and
eighteen petas have identified certain specific works that are required to
be carried out and attended immediately. These works of maintenance,
improvement and renovation are of utmost importance not only to preserve
the heritage which we hold in high esteem, but also for providing a
devotional atmosphere to the devotees.
RENOVATION OF CHANDRASALA
(CORRIDORS) AND THE THAMRAPATTA (COPPER ROOF) AROUND TEMPLE
Thamrapatta is about 180 years old and due
to passage of time it now requires to be completely replaced. The walls and
floorings of the Chandrasalas are also need to be covered with
Granite/Marble.
The work will be done in phased manner. The estimated cost is around Rs. 60
Lakhs. The votaries can participate in this noble cause by contributing Rs.
1,000/- per square feet.
DHWAJASTHAMBHA
The present Dhwajasthambha is around 175
years old. It is 42 feet in height and the circumference is around 4 feet.
This is to be replaced, as it has weakened due to natural deterioration,
with a new Dhwajasthambha made of one single teakwood slap. The estimated
cost is approximately Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.
THE DHWAJAM (THE SACRED FLAG)
The present Dhwajam is made of copper. This is proposed to be replaced
with a silver one. This requires around 6 K.G of Silver. The estimated cost
of this is around Rs. 0.75 Lakh.
THE ADDA PALLAKKI
The ADDA PALLAKKI which is used during annual car festival on Marghshira
Shudda Panchami, the most auspicious day needs to be replaced.
The wooden structure is estimated to cost Rs. 25,000/-. Providing silver
cover will cost approximately Rs. 1 Lakh.
RENOVATION OF PARIVARA DEVATHA
GUDIES
The five parivara Devathas are Shri
Mukhyaprana, Shri Ganapathi, Shri Rudra, Shri Lakshmi and Shri Garuda. It
is proposed to lay the four walls and the floorings with Marble/Granite.
The estimated cost for each is Rs. 20,000/-.
SILVER COVERING FOR DEITIES
Presently the deities of Shri Ganapathi and
Shri Rudra have silver coverings. It is proposed to have silver covers for
the rest of the three deities namely Shri Mukhyaprana, Shri Lakshmi and
Shri Garuda. Each will require 3 K.G of silver. The estimated cost of each
is Rs. 40,000/-.
The aforesaid works are only some of the works, now planned to be carried
out. The works involve expenditure as mentioned above, which with the
support and co-operation of all the devotees, we hope to complete and
maintain the rich heritage that has come to us from our ancestors, in good
order for our posterity. This Temple is the oldest, most sacred and most
revered Temple of our community. LORD SHRI ANANTHESHWARA, SHRI
BHADRANARASIMHA SWAMY and the deities of the Temple, shall shower blessings
to each and everyone of us.
The devotees are requested to send their contributions directly to the
Temple either by cheque or demand draft drawn in favour of SHRI SHRIMATH
ANANTHESHWARA TEMPLE payable at Manjeshwar or Mangalore.
It is also proposed to inscribe the names of those who contribute Rs.
25,000/- or more for one or more sevas on a marble slab which will be
displayed in a prominent place in the precinct of the Temple.
